Friendship Spinners Bylaws

Article 1. Name

The name of this organization shall be Friendship Spinners.

Article 2. Purpose

The purpose of this organization shall be fostering fellowship amongst spinsters, weavers, knitters, dyers, felters and other fiber artisans.

Article 3. Address

The address of this organization, for the purposes of incorporation shall be the address of its current treasure.

Article 4. Place and Time of Meeting and Anuual Meeting

This organization shall meet, more-or-less, once a month; usually on the second Saturday of the month, at a place convenient to most of its membership, usually somewhere in north-central Kentucky or souther Indiana. The annual meeting shall be the December retreat; usually held at Shakertown, KY; where the annual installation to the Society of Crones shall be held.

Article 5. Membership and Dues

Membership shall be open to all women and men who desire to join, can pay the dues and can tolerate the company. Dues at this time shall be $20.00 per annum, on a calendar basis and entitle one to receive mailings and notification of meetings.

Article 6. Officers

The officers of this club shall be its program chair; librarian; treasurer; and newsletter editor. From time to time the club may hold classes and workshops for the education and benefit of its members, and may levy such charges on participants as are necessary to cover expenses. However, the club shall be run as a non-profit organiztion. These articles may be changed or amended from time to time by the membership as they see fit to suit therir changing needs. In the case of the disbanding of this organization, its assest of library and treasury shall be distributed among such members as are in good standing at the time.

Article 7. Term Limitations

Members may serve a maximum of five years as officers on the steering committee of Friendship Spinners.
